First of all I would like to point out that our plot does not follow that of the final Harry Potter book. We are going to disreguard Deathly Hallows entirely and bring our characters to life in what some might consider an.... alternate reality.
The Story so far
The Story so far
Back in the day of the young trio, the infamous Harry Potter had once again failed to kill the evermore-powerful Lord Voldemort. Twenty years later in the year 2017, the treat still existed. In saying this, Harry was also yet to die and still had the passion to one day do away with his old adversary. In these long twenty years so much had happened, most people had gotton married and raised families; many in vain hope that one day all the horror and torment would merely abscond.
Things weren’t as bad for the diminishing members of the Order in the beginning of these years, for the Dark Lord regarded them as mere pests. Some of these pests being pureblood and so he had decided to let them be, for the time being. However, when they launched their historically worthy full-fledged attack on Voldemort’s headquarters in 2007, he was livid.
The following day, Death Eaters murdered and captured several Order members and the entirety of the Order was forced to flee. Eventually, the majority of the broken society settled down in the diminutive village of Hogsmede, just outside the Hogwarts grounds; the only place they could be safe.
Luckily to this day, Voldemort was still none the wiser as to this arrangement. In fact, no one but the unfortunate witches and wizards in hiding know the location of their headquarters and none other than Harry Potter himself, keeps the secret. The secret of the Order.
The Order is a diminutive assemblage now and their ranks are so lean that they’re accepting anyone who proves competent and is of an age of sixteen or older. Many dropout witches and wizards have joined up already. But the Order has to be cautious in days like these, for the Death Eaters far outnumber them and if they were caught they’d certainly be killed or worse, ‘Crucio’ed.
While they are forced to hide, the Death Eaters are living like an aristocracy. They have whatever they want and abide by no one rule except Voldemort’s. To be frank, they have the absolute best of everything. It isn’t all champagne and caviar though; if they do a single thing that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named does not see fit, then they can count on a fate worse than death.
Those who took no side during the war but were simply allowing Voldemort to rule over them, carried on like nothing ever happened. They knew, however, no matter how far in denial they were, that they’re still in peril. But, as long as they didn’t attempt to rebel neither the Order or Voldemort’s army would bother with them and they could remain overlooked, for now.
In June of 2015 an announcement was made that Hogwarts would be reopening under the rule of a cousin to the infamous (for all the wrong reasons) Dolores Umbridge. Students flooded in the following September, eager and excited to be at Hogwarts where the generations of their families before them had all spent their younger years.
The parents of these excitable children were, for the best part, quite wary to begin with. They soon found that the headmistress did a very good job of keeping their children safe and providing quality assurance and advice, much unlike her dear cousin Dolores who was now in the vicinity of the Dark Lord undergoing torture (so rumour had it).
For the first time in twenty years, children of the Death Eaters, neutral households and the Order were going to be united under the same roof. Tensions were high to begin with but things smoothed out as the first year went by. There were still common rivalries and fights but those are customary in all schools.
It was quite curious how the children began to think they’d found a sense of normality in amongst all of this chaos and that which was going on in the outside world. That alone, was such a comforting thought for many. A group of four students even went so far as to reform the Marauders; this being the idea of the original Lupin’s daughter.
At the end of each school year there would be a peculiar summer gathering whereby the death eater and order parents would, on this solitary occasion, give up trying to kill each other for the sake of their children. This would be the time when they were coming to collect them and take them back into their own little worlds. The death-eaters still never suspecting that the Order members resided in none other than the village of Hogsmede.
Now for the school year about to be played out; Headmistress Umbridge was planning a surprise for the students but unbeknown to her Lord Voldemort had a little surprise in store himself.
Headmistress Umbridge decided to reinforce the Tri-Wizard Tournament, an event that had not taken place since the days when Harry Potter was at school. Had she made the right decision or was this all too soon? After all it had been barely two years since Hogwarts had reopened.
The Department of magical sports and games, however, had approved it and all was set. She insisted that something like this was exactly what they needed to build ties between everyone in the Wizarding community. It was due to take place that year and all that was left was to inform her students of the good news. Intending to do so on the first feast of the term she was contented with her new objective.
What was more, it so happened that she had decided to change the rules slightly. Instead of three schools competing against each other, like it had been for many centuries, Umbridge had thought it best if it took place within the school. How could this be possible you ask? The four houses; Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin, were the teams. Yes, they would be fighting against each other in an interhouse Triwizard tournament to win the trophy.
The Dark Lord’s plan, however, he would only share with his most loyal subjects and a few students from the school. It was very possibly his most devious conspiracy yet, and he would only reveal it when the time was right; the last meeting before the Hogwarts term began.
What is Voldemort’s plan? What will happen in the Triwizard tournament? How will the students cope with all this pressure? Just how will this year pan out?
We begin our role-play with a new term of Hogwarts about to begin, the mixed majority ready for a new term to embrace with their presence. The great battle between good and evil carries on and another chapter is written. When will this thing finally be played out?
